Making Room's first giveaway!

Now that fall has officially begun (yay!), I thought we could kick off the season with something warm, snug, and free!  I'm giving away a pair of fingerless gloves from my Etsy shop Making Room {Handmade}.  I've sold several pairs of these gloves over the past year and everyone loves them.  I find they're great for texting, typing, driving, and wearing indoors or out.  These will make a beautiful gift for your mom, sister, best friend, girlfriend, wife... or even yourself!

Here's a description of the gloves from my shop's webpage:

"Knit from a luxurious blend of Chinese Tussah silk and extra fine merino wool, these will be a treasure for any recipient!  Eyelet and seed stitches add modern and delicate details to these lovely gloves. Across the back of the hand a contrasting color is knit into the pattern. These gloves are light enough to be worn three seasons of the year but warm enough to be cozy even on the chilliest days.

"I knit these gloves by hand in Sicily, and thus they are truly Italian made."

Size: Women's Medium

Dimensions: Approximately 7" in circumference and 8" long.

Care: Dry clean only.

How do you win the gloves?  Easy!  Just comment on this post telling me your favorite thing about fall.

  4. I love the way the light changes here in South Carolina. About the middle of Sept. the humidity clears, the sky is more blue, and the light changes....if that makes any sense. ;-) I also love our trips to pick apples with the kids.

I hope the giveaway garners lots of attention and new sales (if that's what you're hoping for, anyway. hahaha!) And as far as Fall is concerned....I love it all! Cold weather...oranges, browns and reds...pumpkins and pumpkin muffins...apples and homemade hot applesauce...cider and pie....mmmmm.... it's my favorite season! Hugs, Becca!

    1. Josh, I am sure you can play the guitar in these gloves. You probably can even see patients while wearing them, although they might not be up to Navy uniform regulations...

  20. Oh how wonderful! So fun. Okay...favorite thing about fall is how it tantalizes all the senses!!! The tastes, the smells, the sights, everything. The crunch of the leaves underfoot, the cheers at a football game, oh man, it's such a fantastic time of year. AND it doesn't come with any of the pressure of "The Holidays" yet. Just pure delicious delight. Anyway...beautiful gloves...glad to know you have an Etsy shop! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

  21. favorite thing about fall: the crispness of everything: crunchy, crispy leaves and crisp fall air. I love fall clothes too, sweaters and jeans. I live in Alabama, and it's miserably hot for much of the year. Fall is well treasured!

I would like to be a contestant too in your giveaway. I have always had cold hands and these gloves would be helpful indoors, when you need your fingers exposed! What a great idea!

And for some connection to your blog, I was an American Studies Student with S. Garber as a professor.

    I enjoy your writing! --chris(tine) f.

  22. Becca, these gloves are gorgeous! Fall is by far my favourite season--crisp mornings, warm drinks, layers & scarves (though I do miss apple-picking and colourful foliage now that I'm living in Texas!) Seeing the holiday decor displays go up in stores makes me happy, too, even though I know it's obscenely early & a marketing ploy. :)

  25. Oh my goodness, look at all these comments! I don't need the handwarmers b/c I already have some from you in a beautiful speckled orange! What I'm most looking forward to this wear is wearing wool - can't believe I'm saying that! I feel like such a New Englander.

  26. Well, I think I have read almost every post you've put up, just for the sake of keeping up with how you you are doing. Thank you for inviting me!

What I loved about fall in Wheaton, IL was the changing colors of the leaves (as well as the cool air). A few weeks into the fall season, when nearly all the leaves had changed color, I would go for an hour or more walk around the outskirts of the campus, touching each color with delight and collecting the brightest and most perfect specimens of each. I pressed them between the leaves of my big literature anthologies and other textbooks. My first year, I sent one each to my siblings in India, because they didn't have chance to experience fall, and then later I saved the leaves and used them for decorative friezes on the tops and bottoms of walls.

I also always looked forward to classes starting again, to discovering the riches of learning that were in store for me for the new school year!

  27. Oh, those are beautiful! I was just planning to make myself some hand warmers - you can never have enough of those! I also knit mine across, but they're not nearly as nice as yours.

  29. Hi Becca,

Absolutely beautiful gloves :) My favorite thing about the fall would have to be the crisp air, the breathtaking colors in the leaves, it's the perfect combination for a nice hike with my family.

Constantly praying for you and your family.
    Love,

  30. What a fun giveaway! I would LOVE to wear these beautiful gloves this winter. Fall is one of my favorite seasons because I enjoy wearing sweaters and boots in the crisp, cool air, hearing the crunch of leaves under my feet, seeing the foliage beauty, picking apples, eating all things pumpkin and squash, and sitting by a warm fire. I followed you on Bloglovin too!
